I’ve decided to revisit Foodist, since it’s been over a year since I took a look at this theme. I’ve got to say, it’s really stood the test of time. Foodist is a really nice theme for food blogs.
With Foodist, you get a fully responsive food blog theme that is gorgeous in design and completely full featured. Foodist will blow you away with it’s ability as a recipe blog, a magazine delivering the newest foodie news, a restaurant review portal and much more. Foodist is mobile friendly, so your users can view it on the go and it’s got a powerful and friendly theme options panel which will have your readers entranced. Foodist is lightweight, so it loads up quick and was designed with Beans at it’s core, the most responsive and innovative of starter themes. You can translate this theme into any language you choose, thanks to WPML. Tons more features help make Foodist a wonderful WordPress food blog site.
Compare this theme to Superfood. I think it’s a favorable comparison.
Foodist is every food blogger’s dream. This theme is fully responsive. Your followers can enjoy browsing your recipes, and reviews on the food you eat and restaurants you visit while using a mobile phone, or a tablet. In addition to the responsive feature, this theme is retina ready. Meaning, you can display your food pictures in excellent resolution. Your pictures are sharper and brighter in comparison to other themes.
With images and videos that have high graphic resolutions, entice your readers and would-be followers to navigate your site. Make them stay longer and read everything on your site. That’s incredibly important for a food blog, since you’re likely to have tons of different recipes that can really help your site lure in tons of traffic.
Page creation is fast and easy. You can simply choose from three pre-defined layouts. Each style makes your site appear professional despite the simple designs used. Layout 1 has two columns with a header where you can place your navigation menus and feature your most recent food blog posts. It also contains a footer area where you can place important credits to those who help you with the site creation.
Here’s a second demo style.
On the other hand, layout 2 features your most recent posts or your top posts with a continue reading icons in two-column style and sidebar to place your widgets. It has a sidebar, a header and footer. In this layout, you can choose to display your posts with the highest number of visits. The theme is WMPL ready, so your followers who are not proficient in English can translate your site into a language that they can understand.
Just upload a file, which has the language you want. Aside from this feature, you can also organize your recipes, reviews and images with the easy drag-and-drop web page builder. You can publish any reviews, food recipes or restaurant information and make them look amazing. You can also include social media icons so your followers can share your recipes in one click.
